Immunotherapy

This is a new form of anticancer treatment where patient’s own Immune system is activated to kill cancer cells. The drug used is in an injection form called IMMUNE Check point Inhibitors. It is used for Lung Cancer, Skin cancer and some women cancers also.

Targeted Therapy: Various cancers express various targets on tumour cells. Drugs or antibodies against these targets are called Targeted therapy. They may be in the form of an injection or tablets. This is commonly used for Breast cancer, Lymphoma, Colon cancer

Precision Oncology treatment: Different cancer cells harbour different genes in them. Hence, every patient’s tumour behaves differently. Cancer cells can be studied by using Molecular tests and specific treatment can be given. This is called precision oncology treatment.

Preventive Oncology: This involves taking steps to reduce lifetime risks of common people. This involves the following:

• Developing healthy lifestyle: Avoid Tobacco, Alcohol, Non-vegetarian diet and Obesity, Regular exercise.
• Vaccination: HPV and Hepatitis B vaccines.
• Age-appropriate screening tests for both men and women.
